Expert Lecture on Wildlife Behaviour, Health and Necropsy Organized at Saurabh College of Veterinary Science

Karauli, August 10, 2026: Saurabh College of Veterinary Science organized a special expert lecture on “Wildlife Behaviour, Health and Necropsy” for fourth-year students. The programme aimed to provide students with practical and technical knowledge about wildlife behaviour, health management, and the scientific procedures involved in post-mortem examination and necropsy.

On the occasion, Dr. C. P. Meena, Veterinary Officer, Government Veterinary Hospital, Ranthambore National Park, delivered the expert lecture. He provided students with detailed insights into various important aspects of wildlife behaviour and health management in Ranthambore National Park. He also guided the students on disease identification, health assessment, and the scientific procedures followed during wildlife necropsy.

During the lecture, students were apprised of the important role of veterinarians in wildlife management, health conservation of wildlife in natural habitats, disease prevention and control, and the contribution of veterinary services towards the conservation of endangered species. The expert enriched the session with practical field experiences and real-life examples, making the topic more informative, engaging, and relevant for the students.

As part of the programme, Professor Dr. A. K. Kataria, Dean, Saurabh College of Veterinary Science, also organized a tree plantation activity as a step towards environmental conservation and promoting a green campus. Students and faculty members planted saplings on the college campus and conveyed the message of environmental protection. They were also sensitized to the importance of trees, biodiversity conservation, and protection of the natural environment. The plantation activity further strengthened the message of wildlife conservation and ecological balance highlighted during the expert lecture.

Professor Dr. Nalini Kataria, Dr. Saurabh Singh Singhal, Dr. Manoj Mathur, Dr. Ajay Vajpayee, Dr. Seema Mathur, and Dr. Abhijeet Purohit, along with faculty members from various departments, were present during the programme. Fourth-year students, along with interested students from other classes, participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.
