The Shourabh College of Veterinary Science is the provider of animal care in the state of Rajasthan and for the region. The college will provide quality educational opportunities to prepare our graduates for varied careers within the veterinary profession, and continues to be near the top ranking of return on investment to obtain a doctor of veterinary degree. Our curriculum is built on a culture of scholarship that has led to the excellent reputation of the college for educating students not only to be ready to enter practice but to become successful veterinarians.
We are proud of our role in providing diagnostic services through our veterinary diagnostic laboratory, and improving the health and welfare of thousands of animals through our small and large animal veterinary teaching hospitals and our ambulatory services. We also contribute to scientific knowledge and understanding through our dedicated faculty and staff who carry out basic and applied research in areas of food safety, animal welfare and the eco-friendly environment.

Prof. Dr. A.K.Kataria made significant contributions in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students for about 37 years He had guided more than 30 M.V.Sc and PhD students and published more than 240 research articles in National and International journals on various aspects of camel immunology, genotyping of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and disease outbreaks. He had visited about 20 countries. He had contributed significantly by saving lives of thousands of animals through control of animal disease outbreaks, to name few are enterotoxaemia in sheep and goats,Buffalo pox, Sheeppox, Paratuberculosis with schistosomosis in sheep , Botulism in cattle ,Tuberculosis in camels, Brucellosis in cattle, buffaloes and camel, Copper poisoning in sheep, Ranikhet in poultry, Heat stroke in equines, Salmonellosis in camels, Facioliasis in sheep, Urea toxicity in cattle, Pasteurellosis in sheep, Mange in goats, Blackquarter in cattle and buffaloes,Pneumonic pasteurellosis in cattle and buffaloes, Swine fever in pigs, Camel pox, Pasteurellosis in camels, Pneumonic pasteurellosis in cattle and buffaloes. One such outbreak which attracted attention of international media was death of thousands of migratory birds due to Avian botulism at Sambhar salt Lake, Jaipur which was very efficiently diagnosed and controlled by him. Dr. Kataria trained about 2000 veterinary doctors and paraveterinary staff from Rajasthan and other states on Animal disease diagnosis and control under centrally sponsored ASCAD program. He had worked as HOD, Veterinary microbiology and biotechnology, Principal investigator of three state research projects .
He had also served as Dean, post graduate studies and founder Director, HRD, RAJUVAS, Bikaner.
